KRCR ABC 7 Redding came up to do a story on tomorrow’s Celebrate 900 Event at the Community Center.
The Celebrate 900 event, which celebrates Dunsmuir becoming the 900th Firewise Community in California and 1st in Siskiyou County, will be held tomorrow Saturday, Sept 7th, from 11 AM to 1 PM in the Dunsmuir Community Center (4841 Dunsmuir Ave).
The event will feature a free Emergency Go Bag giveaway and food from the Pizza Factory, both provided by the Fire Safe Council of Siskiyou County and the Ford Family Foundation. CAL FIRE will also have two fire trucks on site, and Wildfire Ready Raccoon will also appear, so bring the kids.
During the event, the State Fire Marshall Daniel Berlant and CAL FIRE will present Dunsmuir with their official Firewise Community Sign.
Fire Safe Council of Siskiyou County, Siskiyou County OES, United Policy Holders, CORE, and Shasta Valley RCD will all have informational tables at the event to answer community questions and connect people to resources to help them become more wildfire-ready.
Check KRCRtv.com to see the story, which should be up tonight.
