Dunsmuir has become the 900th Firewise Community in California and the 1st in Siskiyou County.
Come celebrate with us on Saturday, September 7th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dunsmuir Community Center (4841 Dunsmuir Ave). Free food and refreshments will be provided. Come learn more about what being a Firewise Community means.
CalFire, Siskiyou County Office of Emergency Services, Siskiyou Fire Safe Council, Shasta Valley Resource Conservation District, CORE, the City of Dunsmuir, and others will be there to provide information on Wildfire preparedness and mitigation and answer your questions.
The Firewise designation covers everyone inside the Dunsmuir Fire District, from the Shasta County line to the Mott Airport. So even if you live outside the city limits, you may still be covered.
