Possible Snowplow Operations: Remove Cars from City Streets

The National Weather Service forecasts colder temperatures and snow showers arriving Wednesday (2/5/25) and lasting through Friday (2/7/25) (link).

The forecast indicates 4-8” of snow is possible in Dunsmuir over the next 3 days. Snow will likely arrive in waves and will not be continuous. Snowplow operations will begin if and when 3+ inches of snow accumulates on City streets.

If and when snowplow operations begin, vehicles must be removed from city streets so that snow removal operations happen as quickly and safely as possible.

Residents may park their vehicles in the parking lots on either side of City Hall, the parking spots next to Children’s Park, or the Baseball Field Parking lot.

Cars left on city streets may be ticketed or towed if they interfere with snow removal operations.

Downed trees, powerlines, and other issues should be reported to Siskiyou County Dispatch: 530-841-2900.
