Volunteers Help Out before Free Green Waste Day

A small group of volunteers spent the holiday helping property owners mitigate their wildfire fuels ahead of Saturday’s Green Waste Day.

The event organized by Dunsmuir Firewise consisted of The McConnell Foundation, CORE, and local volunteers who spent 7 hours on Monday working on six different properties.

The group removed about 1,500 cubic feet of green waste during the event.

Dunsmuir Firewise plans to do another Pre-Green Waste Day cleanup event in the Spring. If you need volunteer assistance for wildfire mitigation work on your property or want to help out and volunteer with us, email Stephen at sdecatur@ci.dunsmuir.ca.us.

Also, visit our Free Green Waste Day page for information on what is and is not accepted at Free Green Waste Day. Plus, there is information on how to sign up for green waste pickup if you are unable to bring it to the Ball Field yourself (link).
