Increased Truck Traffic to Begin Central Dunsmuir exit south to Bridge St

Beginning Monday, October 17th, expect an increase in truck traffic related to a Union Pacific Project.

The areas will be impacted from the Southbound Exit at Central Dunsmuir to Sacramento Ave at Dunsmuir Inn. Then down Sacramento Ave to Butterfly for inbound traffic. Traffic between the North and South Yards will be traveling down Sacramento Ave to Scherrer Ave entering the South Yard at Bridge Street. See route image highlighted in blue below.

The traffic will be approximately 50 trucks a day between the yards and inbound/outbound. There will be parking restrictions during the working hours of the project throughout the duration. The work hours for the project are 7:30am to 5:30 PM Monday through Saturday. The project will most likely have a winter shutdown period but will be working as late in the season as possible.  There will be no parking posted on Sacramento avenue on the hill near the Amtrak Station and south of Cedar to Butterfly due to the narrow roadway. Due to safety concerns for traffic and pedestrians' vehicles in the no parking zone may be towed. Please contact city hall with any questions. 530-235-4822
